Apply for Celebrate Canada Funding

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is encouraging local groups to apply for Federal Government funding through the Celebrate Canada Fund.

The Department of Canadian Heritage provides financial support for activities organized on specific days during the Celebrate Canada period, from June 21st to July 1st. The Celebrate Canada period includes National Aboriginal Day (June 21st), Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24th), Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27th) and Canada Day (July 1st).

Eligible recipients for funding include Canadian not-for-profit organizations, unincorporated associations, businesses organizing projects of a non-commercial nature, educational institutions and municipal governments and other municipal, provincial or territorial institutions.

“I am always proud to see the level of commitment that dedication that local organizations put into events that build national pride,” said Miller. “I strongly encourage all eligible organizations to apply for funding through the Celebrate Canada Fund, to support local events in Bruce and Grey counties.”

The deadline to apply for this funding is January 15th, 2014.
