Congratulating CNIB Owen Sound and Creative Care Solutions on New Horizons for Seniors Funding

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, extends his congratulations to CNIB in Owen Sound and Creative Care Solutions (CCS) of Owen Sound on receiving funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

CNIB will receive $25,000 to aid in their goal of supporting social participation and inclusion of seniors by establishing support facilitated peer groups for seniors suffering from vision loss.

On Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at 11:30a.m, Mr. Miller will also announce funding for CCS of Owen Sound. This funding, in the amount of $25,000, will support the organization in promoting volunteerism among seniors and other generations by implementing a volunteer pay-it-forward program between youth and seniors to help the elders in the community. This announcement will be made at CCS (118 Drive-In Crescent, Owen Sound, ON).

“I am very pleased to the have the opportunity to announce funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program for these two projects geared towards improving the lives of our senior citizens,” said Miller. “It goes to show the dedicated and caring nature of residents in Bruce and Grey counties and I am proud of both of these organizations on their commitment to these important projects.”
