Fifth Call for Proposals for the Build in Canada Innovation Program

Owen Sound, ON – Recently, the Federal Government announced the launch of the fifth Call for Proposals for the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP). Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is encouraging local entrepreneurs to submit innovative technology proposals to the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

The BCIP helps bring Canadian businesses one step closer in moving their products and services into domestic and international markets. The program encourages Canadian entrepreneurs to submit innovative designs that can potentially help departments find solutions for achieving their operational objectives. If innovations are successfully matched with a department’s needs, businesses will have their pre-commercial innovative products and services tested within a government environment and will receive valuable feedback.

“The Build in Canada Innovation Program is a great way for businesses to test and develop innovative products and services within the Government of Canada before reaching the market,” said Miller. “I encourage all local entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for products and services to apply for this program.”

Since 2010, 84 innovations were pre-qualified during the pilot phase of the program and 72 of these innovations were awarded contracts within government departments.

The deadline to submit applications for the fifth Call for Proposals for the Build in Canada Innovation Program is September 16th, 2014.
