Funding for Local Projects Announced in Durham

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, made announcements that the Durham Library and Durham Arena would be receiving funding for local projects through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The funding announcements totaled $183,333 with $150,000 going to the Durham Library for upgrades to accessibility on the site and $33,333 to the Durham Arena to aid in the installation of an elevator.

“Community centres, libraries, arenas and all local infrastructure are vital parts of the community of Durham and indeed all communities across Canada,” said Miller. “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to announce this funding for these very important local projects through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.”

The CIIF provides $150 million over two years for repairs and improvements to existing public community infrastructure and is being delivered by regional development agencies across Canada. Recently, Mr. Miller announced close to $250,000 in funding through CIIF for other communities in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound bringing the total funding from the CIIF to $433,333.
