Minister of Veterans Affairs Unveils Helmets to Hardhats Canada Website

Ottawa, ON – The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, has unveiled the website for Helmets to Hardhats Canada, a program designed to connect Canadian Forces Veterans with well-paying jobs in the construction industry.

Helmets to Hardhats Canada is a partnership with Canada’s Building Trades Unions and brings union, private and public sector resources together to provide Veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Reservists with exclusive access to jobs and training opportunities in the construction industry. These positions include administrative work, engineering, human resources and onsite positions.

“Looking out for our Veterans and men and women in uniform is a top priority for all Canadians,” said Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. “I am very pleased that Helmets to Hardhats now has their website up and running to connect our Veterans and troops with well-paying jobs they deserve.”

Candidates will now be able to access information about careers and apprenticeships through a newly developed website. This website will allow Veterans to identify opportunities that interest them and match their skill sets in the construction industry.
