MP Larry Miller Announces Support for Owen Sound Little Theatre

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, recently announced Federal Government funding for the Owen Sound Little Theatre. The announcement took place at the 100th Anniversary of the Roxy Theatre.

This investment will support the Owen Sound Little Theatre in presenting their preforming arts series at the Roxy Theatre. The series covers a range of genres, from theatre and comedy to folk and country music, and will also include children’s programming. The presentations will feature both established and emerging Canadian artists, including those from Francophone, Aboriginal, and culturally diverse communities.

“Owen Sound Little Theatre is thrilled for the continuing support from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. We can now provide quality opportunities for Canadian artists and have become one of the premier presenters for live performance in Grey and Bruce Counties,” said Aly Boltman, Theatre Manager of Roxy Theatre. “Thanks to this vital funding, we have been able to expand our overall programming exponentially, adding French and Aboriginal performances, workshops, and emerging artist music festivals while also securing high profile Canadian artists for our stage.”

“The Owen Sound Little Theatre and the Roxy Theatre are both vital parts of the region’s cultural vitality and showcase the cultural and ethnic diversity that we have here in Bruce and Grey Counties,” said Miller. “I am very pleased to see the Federal Government supporting this program so that the theatre may further expand its wide programming.”

The Government of Canada has provided funding of $20,000 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund of the Department of Canadian Heritage.
