Hepworth, ON – Today, Larry Miller, Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, congratulated the Hepworth Baptist Church on the completion of an important project at the church.

On January 16th, 2015, Miller announced that the Hepworth Baptist Church would be receiving $50,000 from the Federal Government through the Enabling Accessibility Fund. The Enabling Accessibility Fund is a program that supports capital costs of construction and renovations related to improving physical accessibility and safety for people with disabilities in Canadian communities and workplaces. Eligible projects include: installing automated door openers, constructing a universally designed office, retrofitting a washroom with an accessible toilet, grab bars, etc.

The funding received by the Hepworth Baptist Church was for the installation of an elevator at the church. Today, Miller, alongside project organizers, celebrated the completion of this important project.

“Ensuring that those who have physical disabilities are able to participate in community events is extremely important to every community,” said Miller. “I would like to congratulate the Hepworth Baptist Church on the completion of this project which will ensure that everyone will have access to the church.”
