MP Larry Miller Encourages Students to Apply to Participate in the Forum for Young Canadians

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is encouraging students in Bruce and Grey Counties to apply to take part in the 2015 Forum for Young Canadians sessions.

Each year, Canadian students between 15-19 years old are able to take part in a week long session in Ottawa focused on engaging youth in politics. Approximately 120 students will be selected to participate per session. In 2015, there will be three, week-long sessions. The dates for these sessions are:

–       February 22nd – 27th, 2015

–       March 8th – 13th, 2015

–       March 22nd – 27th, 2015

“I strongly encourage all students who have an interest in politics or who would like to learn more about how Parliament works to apply to participate in this program,” said Miller. “Many students from Bruce and Grey Counties have participated in this program in the past. I always meet with local students while they are in Ottawa and have only heard great things about the program.”

The fee to participate in the session is $895. This fee will cover a week’s accommodation at a hotel in Ottawa, all meals, transportation while in Ottawa, instructional materials and more. There are bursaries available for qualifying students to bring down the cost of participating in the program.

Students are encouraged to apply by early-mid December 2014 for the 2015 sessions.
