MP Larry Miller Presents Apprenticeship Completion Certificates to Local Apprentices

 

Owen Sound, ON – Tonight, Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, awarded apprenticeship completion certificates to local apprentices in the Owen Sound area in honour of them completing their apprenticeship training and becoming certified Red Seal journeypersons in their respective trades. Mr. Miller awarded the certificates on behalf of the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Employment and Social Development.

 

Recipients of the Apprenticeship Completion Certificates will be receiving the Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG). This grant is awarded in the amount $2,000 to apprentices upon the completion of their apprenticeship program. Apprentices can use these grants to help pay for tuition, tools, or other expenses.

 

Since 2007, the Federal Government has issued over 500,000 apprenticeship grants worth a combined $700 million in support of Canadian apprentices.

 

“I was very pleased to present apprenticeship completion certificates to five deserving apprentices from the area. Each of the recipients will be receiving the Apprenticeship Completion grant in recognition of the completion of their apprenticeships and certification in each of their trades,” said Miller. “These apprentices are the workforce of tomorrow and I congratulate them on this significant achievement and wish them all the best in their future successes.”

 

Mr. Miller presented certificates to; Mr. Brandon Boulter, Mr. Bradley Shaw, Ms. Melissa Fyvie, Mr. Adam Taylor, and Mr. Andrew Schutz. The presentation was made at a ceremony at Georgian College.
