MP Larry Miller Responds to Temporary Foreign Workers Controversy

Ottawa, ON – In light of the recent controversy at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in regards to the Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP), Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, has voiced his intention to call on the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development to review the hiring of foreign workers in Canada.

Recent controversy over the use of the TFWP by RBC has sparked debate about how companies are to use this federal program. Miller will be calling on the Minister to review organizations and companies that may have abused the program.

“The intention of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program is not for companies to hire foreign workers over Canadian workers,” said Miller. “Canadian workers are qualified and eager to work. I will be calling on the Minister to investigate companies that may have abused this program.”
