National Seniors Day

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is recognizing all seniors in Bruce and Grey counties on Canada’s National Seniors Day.

The Government of Canada officially established National Seniors Day in 2010 to provide an occasion for all Canadians to celebrate and appreciate Canada’s senior citizens. The day seeks to recognize the important part that seniors citizens have played in shaping the country and commits to continued support for the well-being of all seniors in Canada.

This fall, the Government of Canada released the Action for Seniors Report, which provides an overview of various federal programs and initiatives that are helping seniors across Canada. Furthermore, www.seniors.gc.ca provides seniors, their families, and caregivers with information on federal, provincial/territorial and municipal programs/benefits and services. MP Larry Miller’s office is also able to assist seniors in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound who require assistance with any Federal Government program.

“On National Seniors Day, I would like to recognize all seniors throughout Bruce and Grey counties and across the country,” said Miller. “Our seniors are a vital part of our community and support will always be there for seniors who need it. Seniors that are struggling with any government programs can feel free to contact my office so that they can receive the support they need.”
