MP Larry Miller Congratulates Josh Cassidy at “Rolling Rampage” Event

Ottawa, ON- Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound expressed his congratulations today to Josh Cassidy who was in Ottawa for the annual “Rolling Rampage” event. “Rolling Rampage” is an event held on Parliament Hill to raise awareness of sport for athletes with a disability.

Josh Cassidy is a resident in the riding of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound who at a young age was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the spine and abdomen, which resulted in the amputation of both of his legs.

Recently, Josh won the men’s wheelchair division in the 116th Boston Marathon, breaking the world record by 2 seconds. Josh was 3.14 minutes ahead of the second place contestant and with this win he establishes himself as the frontrunner for the Summer Olympic Games in London.

“Josh joins a tremendous group of premier athletes from Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound,” said Miller. “I would like to congratulate him on his achievements and wish him all the best in his future competitions.”

Larry Miller presented Josh with a congratulatory certificate at a reception following the wheelchair race on Parliament Hill today.
