MP Larry Miller Pleased About Royal Assent for Important Bills

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is pleased to see Royal Assent given to bills: C-25 – The Pooled Registered Pension Plans Act, C-26 – The Citizen Arrest and Self-defence Act, C-31 - The Protecting Canada’s Immigration System Act and Bill C-38 – The Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act.

“These Bills support safety, growth, jobs and an overall betterment for Canada,” said Miller. “I am very pleased that each Bill has received Royal Assent and will be implemented in Canada in the near future.”

-       Bill C-25 will provide a new and low cost pension option for Canadians without access to a workplace pension.

-       Bill C-26 will expand the legal authority for a private citizen to make an arrest within a reasonable period of time after they find a person committing a criminal offence either on or in relation to their property.

-       Bill C-31 will provide faster protection to those who genuinely need refuge and faster removal for those who do not.

-       Finally, Bill C-38 will continue Canada’s strong economic growth and put in place and economic action plan that will support Canadians.
