MP Larry Miller Calls for Moratorium of Construction of Windmills

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound, will be calling on Premier Dalton McGuinty to put a moratorium on the construction of all windmills until the recently announced federal health study is completed.

Health Canada and Statistics Canada will be conducting a study that will examine health-related complaints from individuals living in close proximity to wind turbine establishments.

“In light of the recent study announced by Minister Aglukkaq I am calling on the Premier to put a moratorium on the construction of wind turbines until the study’s completion,” said Miller. “Until the study is completed and we know the health effects it is appropriate that no further turbines are built.”

Mr. Miller will be writing a letter to Premier McGuinty urging him to bring this moratorium into effect. For more information please visit www.healthcanada.gc.ca.
