Statement from MP Larry Miller in Vilnius, Lithuania

Vilnius, Lithuania – Larry Miller, Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is currently in Vilnius, Lithuania attending meetings with the Canada-NATO Parliamentary Association from March 22nd through to March 24th, 2018.

Mr. Miller issued the following statement from Vilnius:

“I am honoured to again have the opportunity to be a member of the Canadian delegation as part of the Canada-NATO Parliamentary Association’s meetings in Vilnius, Lithuania. These are important meetings that help build connections and strengthen Canada’s relationship with our NATO allies.

While I have been travelling I have been watching closely what is taking place in the House of Commons. It is truly shameful that rather than simply allowing his National Security Advisor to appear before a parliamentary committee, the Prime Minister would rather have all MPs vote for hours on end. It really makes you wonder what this Government is trying to hide.

Make no mistake, this is not petty politics. These procedural measures exist as a tool for the opposition to hold the Government to account. That is precisely what the opposition is doing here. When the Government won’t be transparent, this is what we must do. I wish all my caucus colleagues the best as they continue to vote.

Finally, I would like to wish the Owen Sound Attack the best of luck as they face the London Knights in the first round of the OHL Playoffs. Great to hear about last night’s win. Three more to go! Go Attack Go!”
