Third Reading of Bill C-383 is Scheduled

Ottawa, ON – Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is pleased that Third Reading of his Private Member’s Bill, Bill C-383 The Transboundary Waters Protection Act has been scheduled.

Bill C-383 will ensure that Canada’s water is protected from bulk export. At Second Reading, the bill received unanimous consent and was referred to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development for further study. On October 31st, 2012 the committee reported the bill back to the House of Commons with only minor amendments.

“I am very pleased at the amount of support Bill C-383 has received at all stages so far in the process,” said Miller. “Protecting our water is an issue of importance to all Canadians and I am looking forward to continued support for this bill at Third Reading and as it moves to the Senate.”

Third Reading has been scheduled for December 4th, 2012.
