Township of Chatsworth Receives Funding through Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program

Chatsworth, ON – Today, Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, announced that the Township of Chatsworth will be receiving $50,000 through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.

The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program is being delivered by regional development agencies across the country and will provide $150 million over the next two years to support the rehabilitation, renovation and expansion of existing community infrastructure. There was significant interest in the program in southern Ontario with FedDev receiving more than 1,100 applications during the application intake.

Projects have been selected based on program criteria including; the extent to which funding was leveraged from other sources, construction-readiness, and linkages to Canada’s 150th Anniversary. Funding for the Township of Chatsworth will support the rehabilitation work at the Chatsworth Community Centre. The project will rehabilitate the exterior and the restrooms at the community centre.

“The Chatsworth Community Centre is a focal point in the community that supports a number of events and community activities,” said Miller. “I am very pleased to announce $50,000 in federal funding to support work at the community centre to ensure the facility may be enjoyed by the community for years to come.”
